Keys 2 Drive Free Lesson - Program closing

As a provider of the Keys2Drive free lessons we were informed today that the program has been scheduled to close permanently. If you have not previously used your FREE, Keys2Drive lesson, you must act NOW before the program closes.  

Our normal driving lesson service will continue as normal. Keys2Drive is a small part of the services delivered by our instructors.

New road rules in QLD. Move Over. Slow Down.

Did you know that new laws have recently been introduced in Queensland regarding what to do around emergency and assistance vehicles. These include:

  • Queensland Police
  • Queensland Ambulance
  • Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Fire and Rescue Service
  • Rural Fire Service
  • State Emergency Service
  • Transport enforcement Transport and Main Roads compliance vehicles
  • National Heavy Vehicle Regulator compliance vehicles
  • Breakdown assistance providers Tow trucks Roadside assistance, for example RACQ or other vehicles that provide a similar service and are clearly marked.

Fatality Free Friday - Sign the pledge

What is Fatality Free Friday

This year, Fatality Free Friday is being held on Friday 27th May, 2022. Each year the Australian Road Safety Foundation (See here) aims to raise awareness around the significant road trauma and large number of fatalities caused by road accidents. Each year the foundation aims to achieve  "Fatality Free Friday" where no lives are lost.

Mobile phone rules for Learner Drivers and P Licence holders

Keys 2 Drive

At Rightway we have supported the Keys2Drive program since it was introduced several years ago. Recently a number of our instructors have opted out of the program due to onerous requirements that make compliance financially unviable. They have instead opted to focus on delivering standard, professional training at the highest standard.

The removal of some of our K2D capacity is not a reflection on the instructors involved, it is purely a business decision for those concerned.
